Ball valves are used to control and shut off water supply in a water network. They use a pivoting ball to control flow through it.
It is open when the ball’s hole is in line with the flow and closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle.
There are two main categories, the full bore and the reduced bore valves.
There is a large variety of ball valves depending on the material the valve is made of, the handling mechanism as well as other characteristics such as anti-freeze design etc.
