The purpose of the implementation is:
- The continuous monitoring and supervision of key operational parameters of the water supply system.
- The collection and storage of relevant historical data of the water supply system
The proposed system involves the creation of an information collection, supervisory control, and automation system for the operation of the facilities, consisting of a Central Control System (CCS) from which water resources will be managed, through an electronic representation of the water transport/distribution network, interconnected via wireless communication devices with 11,339 Local Consumption Control Stations (LCCS).
Specifically, the scope of the project includes:
- Detailed design of the offered integrated system
- Procurement and installation of 11,339 Local Consumption Control Stations (LCCS), along with the required equipment for them.
- Procurement and installation of all the software required for the operation of the system.
- Procurement and installation of all communication equipment, including any repeaters and antennas required for the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the system, as well as the submission of applications for obtaining approvals from the competent authorities for communication systems or any other required services or agencies.
- Procurement and installation of the instruments mentioned in the study.
- Factory acceptance tests and on-site acceptance tests.
- Work completion tests and delivery of the system.
- Delivery of drawings, operation, and maintenance manuals.
- Training of the service personnel in the operations, support, and maintenance of the system.
- Operation and support of the system during the test run.
- Free warranty/maintenance for proper operation during the period following the final quantitative and qualitative acceptance of the supply (system), as specified in the technical offer and evaluated.
OPERATION – EXPECTED RESULTS:
Thus, through the installation of appropriate electrical/mechanical equipment and customized software at the local stations, information will be collected and processed from all key points of the internal water supply network of specific areas, which will update the system about:
- The operational data of the vital components of the network, such as:
- The collection of data, such as the flow rate and pressure values in water transmission pipelines.
- The calculation and visualization of nighttime flow rates.
- The immediate display of water reserves.
- The collection of data, such as the flow rate in pipes.
- The collection of data such as flow rate and pressure in the internal network of the settlements.
The transmission of the above data from the local stations to the central control station, which will be located at the technical service offices of D.E.Y.A. Eretria, will be done via wireless communication. The communication system will be designed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the entire system.
The collection and monitoring of the above information will allow the technical service of D.E.Y.A. Eretria, through appropriate evaluation and processing of the data, to always have a clear understanding of the operational status of the entire system and take desired corrective actions or pre-adjust system parameters to ensure that the network operates based on predefined "operation scenarios."
Also, through the balance that will result from measuring the inputs and outputs of the pipelines, as well as with the use of the instruments to be procured, it will be possible to pinpoint problematic areas with great accuracy.
