Constrat, a leading company in the design and implementation of water saving applications, joined forces with SESILINK, a company that represents in Greece the ASTERRA technology and implemented on behalf of D.E.Y.A. Heraklion, for the first time, Satellite Leak Detection.
More specifically, the D.E.Y.A. Heraklion serves a particularly demanding network on a daily basis, which according to 2023 data needs 1,700 cubic meters of water per hour. Due to the age of the network and the rotation of water supply in various areas of Heraklion city as a result of the general water scarcity that prevails, there are often failures in the water supply networks that are often not easy to detect.
The well-trained staff that Constrat has at its disposal, listening to the needs of D.E.Y.A. Heraklion, in cooperation with SESILINK, carried out the pilot implementation of the most technologically advanced solution in leak detection ASTERRA, aiming at detecting visible and invisible leaks in the hydraulic network of D.E.Y.A. Heraklion and the wider region.
With the completion of the 10-day project, it was delivered to the D.E.Y.A. Heraklion, a complete file of GIS and Google Maps maps, which accurately record 61 points that are confirmed leakage points.
Constrat's CEO Mr. Konstantinos Stratis said, "I am proud that our company, after years of accumulated experience, can offer reliable services directly to large entities such as D.E.Y.A. We are able to provide our customers with a reliable and reliable service in the field of public utilities, such as the Heraklion utility company. The ASTERRA satellite imaging technology provides all the necessary information in real time so that the engineers of D.E.Y.A.A. can provide the necessary information in real time. Heraklion engineers can seamlessly ensure the proper water supply of Heraklion and the surrounding areas."
The Director General of D.E.Y.A. Mr. Kosmadakis Emmanuel stated: "THE D.E.Y.A.A. The assistance that private companies provide to public services is invaluable to ensure that all citizens of Heraklion have a continuous water supply, no matter how difficult the conditions we face. "
Ms. Maria Kalagia, CEO of SESILINK, the official representative of ASTERRA technology for Greece, commented: "It is a great pleasure and satisfaction for all of us at SESILINK that ASTERRA's technology is a valuable tool in the detection of leaks via satellite in the water supply network of the Municipality of Heraklion. Constrat is leading the way by utilizing SESILINK's technology and specialized services, providing quality support to the D.E.Y.A. Heraklion."
